About Us

Since our start in 1929, the Walworth Fire Department has been staffed entirely by volunteers.  Over 50 dedicated members provide the manpower and leadership necessary to protect life and property for the residents of our community.

The Walworth Fire Department is run by the Walworth Fire District, which owns and maintains the fire house, apparatus, and equipment.  The Department provides the manpower for the District.  Together, the Department and District work to provide fire and rescue protection for the residents of Walworth.  We protect approximately 12 square miles within our Fire District and assist our neighboring communities when needed.

Our volunteers respond to a wide variety of emergencies every year, including:

  • house fires
  • chimney fires
  • car fires
  • brush fires
  • natural gas & propane leaks
  • carbon monoxide detector activation
  • chemical spills
  • motor vehicle accidents
  • water rescues
  • storm emergencies
  • electrical wires down
